About Rachell
Elk Grove isn't just where I live — it's where my life was built.
My husband Olaf and I have called this community home for more than 30 years, raising our three sons in Elk Grove Unified schools and staying present — volunteering in classrooms, supporting youth athletics, and helping launch a no-cost afterschool enrichment program for local students.
As a first-generation college graduate, I know how much access and opportunity shape a child's future. That conviction has driven my career in California public service - from sitting with California's teachers at CalSTRS during COVID as they made the hardest decisions of their careers, to helping build the foundational model that became the CalKIDS Scholarship program - now giving more than 5 million California children free scholarship funds for college, trades, or any career path they choose.
I believe strong schools are built through genuine collaboration — supporting students, valuing educators, engaging families, and making financial decisions that put classrooms first. That isn't a campaign promise. It's how I've worked for nearly a decade.
I'm running for the EGUSD Board of Education, Trustee Area 5, because this community deserves a board member whose record proves what she believes.
Access, pathways, and accountability — these aren't campaign words for me. They are the through-line of every professional choice I have made and every volunteer hour I have given. The EGUSD budget is a public trust held for every student in this district. I have spent my career learning how to protect trusts like that. I'm ready to do it at the board table.
Elk Grove gave my family everything. I'm ready to give back.
